What are KDF® media and where are they used?
Water is life, and the quality of your drinking water plays a crucial role in your health and well-being.
Our innovative water filtration systems KDF® or GAC/KDF reduce or remove a wide range of impurities from drinking water through an oxidation or reduction process (redox). The unique combination of copper and zinc in KDF filter systems creates an electrochemical reaction. During this reaction, electrons are transferred between molecules and new elements are created. Harmful impurities become harmless components. Free chlorine, for example, becomes harmless and water-soluble chloride. Similarly, some heavy metals such as copper, lead, mercury and others react by settling on the surface of the filter medium, effectively removing them from the water supply.
